This is XR Leeds
A little bit of context
Millions of people around the world are facing the realities of climate collapse and ecological breakdown.
The effects of the climate and ecological crisis are increasing in frequency and severity, and inevitably it’s going to be the already vulnerable and marginalised that suffer the most.
We are facing many crises resulting from the system we live under, but by rising up and taking action, alongside millions of others, we can demand an end to this exploitative system, and true, just, radical protection for people and planet.
Who We Are

We are group of people working, studying, living in and around Leeds, who have had enough of the status quo and want a better future.
We are taking action uniting together in rebellion against climate collapse, ecological breakdown and the extinction of all life.
Our Demands
We have four key demands that are central to what we do, see them here.
What is XR?
Extinction Rebellion (XR) is an international movement that uses non-violent civil disobedience in an attempt to halt mass extinction and minimise the risk of social collapse.
We organise in small, autonomous groups distributed around the world. These groups are connected in a complex web that is constantly evolving as we grow and learn. We are working to build a movement that is participatory, decentralised, and inclusive.
The structure aims to empower anybody to act as part of XR, so long as they agree to follow our ten core principles ( <- see link for more info in the ‘Our principles and values’ section half way down the page). You can read a summary of our Self-Organising System (or XR Constitution) for more information. You can also read the full constitution.
We are seeking a balance between being able to act quickly in response to fast-changing situations and being able to integrate the collective wisdom of multiple perspectives when needed.
